Small Business Saturday 2016 – December 3rd

By November 21, 2016March 15th, 2019News, Small Business, Somerset

Small Business SaturdayMany of the businesses we mentor provide a service that could really benefit from a grassroots campaign that raises awareness of small businesses and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’. Small Business Saturday UK works year round to promote local businesses and services, but there is always one day in the year that they use to highlight the great ways small local businesses can help make your life easier.

As this is a long term campaign, you can always put the first Saturday in December in your diary and this year it falls on Saturday 3rd December 2016. As a business, it is a great way to get extra publicity, and its a day to start your Christmas shopping in local shops (much better than struggling through the crowds in a huge shopping mall) or to book a celebration at a local small restaurant, perhaps.

The Small Business Saturday UK website gives you the chance to register your business on their ‘Small Business Finder’, and download lots of marketing information you can use to show you are part of the big day. For businesses active on social media, they promise shout outs to any business that shares their plans for the day.

As we are once again suffering flooding down here in the South West, there is also a useful page on the site to offer guidance to any small business affected.

So take a look at the site and get involved. What have you got to lose?!
