Possible boost to business in Glastonbury as planning application submitted

glastonburyThe Western Daily Press reported today that a planning application  for eleven small industrial units has been submitted to Mendip District Council.

It is hoped that around fifty jobs could be created as small businesses, possibly employing two to four people, enjoy the benefits of the development planned for the Morlands site at Old Beckery Road, Glastonbury. It is an area that needs a facelift, say the architects Heriz Payne Ltd, acting on behalf of the developers.

The paper quotes Jonathan Heriz-Smith as saying “It will [give the area a boost] because the skate park is well looked after and this will give the whole thing a lift.”

This is more good news for the town, following the announcement by Michael Eavis in February that he is working to create a sate-of-the-art tourist attraction inside St Dunstan’s House, a well-known town centre building.
