Online small business support from The Guardian

By October 15, 2015March 15th, 2019Advice, Business, Networking, Small Business

guardianRecord numbers of people are setting up their own business. Self-employment is booming at a time when employment itself is rising. The flexibility working for oneself offers, and the job satisfaction many feel from being their own boss in a career they enjoy, is very appealing. However, it is still difficult to make a success of a small business. Cash flow problems, marketing, social isolation – these are just a few of the less attractive issues many face in the first years as a business is getting established.

We have written on here before about the importance of networking for success in business, especially in the local area, but today we wanted to highlight a really good online resource that can offer a lot of immediate benefits.

The Guardian Small Business Network allows you to register free online for expert tips, regular business news and advice straight to your email inbox and links to all sorts of networking opportunities. Of course, some of the things offered incur a charge – subscriptions and events for example – but there are generous discounts available. Having looked at the site there is a lot of information you can gather without paying a penny and of course you can unsubscribe quickly if you find it is of little benefit.

Here at Cornerstone we are always looking for ways to support new and small businesses. Do you have any favourite online or local resources that you would like to share? We would love to hear from you!
