As always, we love to hear a ‘good news’ story, and we have just received an updated testimonial from The Hub in Yeovil, an award-winning charity providing skills and development opportunities for young people and adults with additional support needs. Their relationship with Cornerstone has drawn to a close because they are now in a position to move on alone – the very best result for a mentoring organisation and one we are very proud of.
Clive Tuck, CEO at The Hub says:
Cornerstone provided an excellent mentor. I had no idea what to expect and at the time I met my Mentor I had so many issues to address – from weak governance, a pending premises relocation, staffing restructure and a rebrand. He was able to help me see the wood for the trees and set realistic priorities for managing change and building the business for the future. The Mentor’s experience in the charity sector, as a trustee was invaluable, shaping the way forward in a very supportive and focused way.
Cornerstone was able to provide a very experienced mentor with years of experience to draw on. The impact of his support was significant. The Hub has now successfully co-located 2 premises into one new larger, purpose-built premises. Our rebrand has had significant impact and our referral rate for new service-users has trebled in 10 weeks. The cafe’s takings are up by an average of 65% and our new Board members bring a raft of new experience and skills that are making such a difference to my workload as CEO.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Cornerstone in the future.”
Cornerstone mentors are all volunteers, with years of business experience, and the service is free of charge. If you are interested in receiving some support for your business idea, your startup or established small business, do get in touch via our ‘Get in touch’ page.
