Business large and small from across the County have been recognised by the organisers of Somerset Business Awards 2017 and invited to a black-tie celebration on October 20th.
It is great to see such a wide variety of businesses on the shortlist, which can be seen in full on the SBA Awards site. Over 100 companies submitted entries in categories for micro, small, medium and large businesses, as well as those specifically family-run. There is also a category for the best young employee, and one for best charity. Other awards include those for technology and marketing. Nominees come from the length and breadth of Somerset, and the organisers have been very impressed with the number of high performing businesses in the area.
Loren Gray, who is Events Manager at the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, organiser of the Somerset Business Awards, is quoted as saying:
“We were so pleased to have received such great interest in the Awards, especially the new categories, which have seen an extraordinary number of high-quality applications. We are delighted to also see lots of entries from businesses who have never entered before. We wish all the finalists the best of luck, and we look forward to celebrating with them in October.”
A well-known face in West – Alex Lovell of BBC Points West – will be hosting the event at the Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton.
Our survey of Cornerstone mentees is still underway, but it is clear that many we have helped have become very successful, whilst others have found success more difficult to achieve. So even if you are a sole trader or micro business just beginning your journey, be inspired by these businesses, all of whom will have faced those early challenges, and do get in touch if you think we can help you on your way to next year’s awards!
